How much does a small business website cost in the UK?
Most agencies keep their prices behind a contact form. We publish ours, so you can see what a website costs before you speak to anyone.
Our starting prices
These are starting prices, excluding VAT. The price you pay is the one in your written quote, agreed before any work starts.
- Launch site, six pages: from £500, one-off.
- Growth site, ten pages with a blog and booking or enquiry flows: from £2,500, one-off.
- SEO and ads management: from £600 a month. Ad spend is paid separately, straight to the ad platform.
- Social media content: from £450 a month.
What changes the price of a website
- The number of pages. A six-page site costs less to design and build than a ten-page one.
- A blog. A place to publish articles adds design and set-up work.
- Booking or enquiry flows. A form that emails you is simple. A booking journey takes more building and testing.
- Words and images. Whether you provide the text and pictures, or need help with them, changes the scope. Your quote says exactly what is included.
- Marketing after launch. A website gets built once. SEO, ads and social content are ongoing work, and they are priced monthly.
What a good quote should list
Whoever you choose, ask for a written quote that says:
- exactly which pages and features you are buying, and what is not included,
- the total price and whether VAT is added,
- any ongoing costs after launch, such as the domain name and hosting,
- who owns the website, the code and the accounts once it is finished.
If a quote cannot answer those four points, ask again before you pay.
Questions worth asking any agency or freelancer
- Will the code, the domain and the accounts be in my name?
- Does the site need plugins or regular updates to stay secure? Who does that work, and what does it cost?
- What happens if I want to move to someone else later?
- Is the price fixed for the scope we agreed?
How the market looks
From our own look at UK agency and freelancer websites, small business sites often start somewhere around £700 to £4,000 from a freelancer and £3,000 to £6,000 from an agency. Treat these as rough guides, not rules. Prices vary a lot, and many agencies do not publish them at all.
How we price
Every project is a fixed scope with an itemised written quote. You see what you are buying before anything starts. We build on modern tooling, not WordPress, so there are no plugins to keep patching. You own the code, the domain and the accounts, and we hand them over when the site launches.
